Paris Catacombs Tickets Sold Out? The Last-Minute Options That Work

Official Catacombs tickets go on sale only 7 days ahead and sell out. Here is what still works at short notice, with prices checked in October 2026.

If catacombes.paris.fr shows nothing for your date, the quickest fix is the timed-entry ticket with audio guide sold through GetYourGuide. It is the same visit, carries the platform’s Official ticket badge, costs from $43 as of October 2026 and confirms your slot as soon as you pay. More than 12,000 reviewers rate it 4.6/5.

Why the official calendar is empty

Two rules do it. Paris Musées sells only the next seven days, a limit its ticketing page says it introduced because fraudulent tickets were circulating, and it lets no more than 200 people into the tunnels at once. So a Saturday in spring can be gone within hours of appearing, and a date more than a week away is not sold yet at all.

There is also no ticket desk for you to fall back on. The official page says that at current crowd levels no tickets can be sold on site. The only people served at the desk on the day are those entitled to free entry, such as children under 8, who show proof and pick up a free ticket without the audio guide.

What still works at short notice

The ticket with audio guide. The simplest route: a timed slot on the public route, audio guide in English, French, Spanish or German. It has no free cancellation, so book once your date is fixed.

A combination ticket with a Seine cruise. These bundle the Catacombs slot with a one-hour river cruise you take separately, and they often still have dates when nothing else does. One reviewer wrote in October 2026 that “the catacombs were sold out but we were able to get in with this combination ticket.” The best-reviewed, from Mon Petit Paris, also includes entry to up to three temporary exhibitions in Paris museums and has free cancellation.

A guided tour. Every guided tour carries its own entry, and the small-group ones add rooms off the public route. They cost more, but they are the most likely to have space on a date that is otherwise full.

What doesn’t work

Turning up without a ticket, unless you qualify for free entry. Buying from someone on the street or a resale site: staff check every booking at the door, and Paris Musées’ own terms forbid resale. The Paris Museum Pass, which does not cover the Catacombs. And changing your official ticket to another date: the official ticketing page says date changes are not possible.

If your date is more than a week away

Then nothing is sold out yet; it simply isn’t on sale. Set a reminder for seven days before your visit and check the official site that day, or book the GetYourGuide ticket now if you would rather have it settled. The official price is €31 for adults, €25 reduced, €15 for ages 8 to 17 and free under 8, with the audio guide included.

On the day

Arrive ten minutes before your slot with the ticket on your phone. Your timed ticket only gives priority at the time printed on it. Bring a bag smaller than 40 x 30 x 20 cm, because there is no cloakroom, and a warm layer for the 14°C tunnels. For the rest of the logistics, see opening hours and visit length, and if you have children with you, the Catacombs with kids.
